Our Story

It all started in 1999 with a bold idea and a website called NobleGrace.com. The concept was “Dating by Horoscope” — a matchmaking platform where only singles could register. We combined Chinese zodiac with Western zodiac to create 144 unique personality profiles called DoubleSigns, and used a proprietary compatibility formula to help people find their astrological match.

Then something unexpected happened. Our users revolted — lovingly. Messages poured in: “We’re married and want to read about our signs together.” “I’m in a relationship but I love sharing my DoubleSign with friends.” “I’m not looking to date — but I can’t stop reading about every sign combination.”People didn’t just want matchmaking. They wanted a way to understand themselves and the people in their lives.

That feedback changed everything. “Dating by Horoscope” became “Friends by Horoscope” — a social identity platform where anyone could discover their DoubleSign, explore compatibility with friends, family, and partners, and share their astrological profile with the world.

The result: 90,000 registered users, millions of visitors over 25+ years, and a community that keeps coming back. Each of the 144 DoubleSigns — from Rat/Aries to Pig/Pisces — has its own personality description that blends Eastern and Western traditions into something entirely new. What started as a dating experiment became a living archive of astrological identity.

Our Legacy

The Creative Team

The original 144 DoubleSign personality descriptions were written by Dr. Jay Enfield, drawing on decades of astrological research to craft profiles that feel personal and true-to-life.

All 144 DoubleSign illustrations, plus the 12 Chinese zodiac and 12 Western zodiac sign images, were created by artist Marian ONeal. Each illustration captures the spirit and energy of its sign combination in vivid, original artwork.

How It Works

Your DoubleSign is the combination of your Chinese zodiac sign (determined by your birth year) and your Western zodiac sign (determined by your birth date). Together, 12 Chinese signs times 12 Western signs create 144 unique DoubleSigns.

Our compatibility calculator uses a proprietary formula that weighs Chinese zodiac harmony, Western zodiac compatibility, and elemental balance to generate a unique compatibility score for any two people.

Our Technology

DoubleSign is built on a simple but powerful idea: 12 Chinese zodiac signs multiplied by 12 Western zodiac signs equals 144 unique DoubleSign personalities. Each combination produces a distinct profile that blends the wisdom of both astrological traditions.

Our compatibility engine uses a proprietary formula that weighs Chinese zodiac harmony (55%), Western zodiac compatibility (25%), elemental balance (10%), and a deterministic drift factor to produce consistent, meaningful compatibility scores on a 50–100 scale. The same two people always receive the same score — no randomness, no guessing.
